Life skills for vulnerable young people

Teaching life skills and social skills is one of the best ways to help children in orphanages and young people who have suffered family neglect.

In typical orphanages children have no chance to learn how to cook, travel around their city or socialise with people outside the orphanage system.  Even as teenagers they aren't given responsibility.

Without adequate life skills young people are more likely to end up homeless, become adicted to drugs or alcohol,  and to have their own children taken away and put in orphanages.

We are working to break this vicious cycle.  Our Life Skills course books are now in use in orphanages across Russia.  We also work with grassroots organisations in St Petersburg and Tbilisi, Georgia to give street children, young offenders, and orphanage "graduates" the skills and support they need to build a successful adult life.
